Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple

There comes a time in life in which everyone has to resign from a job. In this case Steve Jobs has just resigned as the CEO of Apple. He sent in his resignation letter saying:

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple”s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

If you are a fan of Steve Jobs work with Apple you have probably had the thought of Jobs resigning soon from the position as CEO of Apple. Steve is battling cancer at the moment and has been on medical leave lately. Its unfortunate to have to see one of my inspirations as well as an inspiration to the tech community today leave the company that he created. As stated in the letter that Steve Jobs sent in he would like to be the chairman of the board, director, and Apple employee. Also, he recommended Tim Cook to take the place as CEO of Apple.

As far as the results of this resignation the stocks may slightly drop for the next couple of days but, mainly people are just going to be bummed that the companies creator has to drop as the leader of the company. Apple runs in Steves blood and his name will forever be the king of the Silicon Valley.
